My long time friend Dan Quinn who I know from Page High School in Greensboro, North Carolina reconnected last week and he told me about the organization, Children of Vietnam, where he is an active board member.
They provide aid and support to poor and homeless children of Da Nang Vietnam. I look forward to learning more about the organization, check them out if you have time.
I met a guy who works at this fantastic SF Nonprofit that brings solar power to lower income neighborhoods among other things.

FreeRice is one of the more engaging approaches to help end World Hunger that my friend Brad Edwards at Georgia Southern sent me the other day. The United Nations approach is to send 20 grains of rice to hungry people for every question answered correctly. Go ahead, play the game, feed some people, test your knowledge!
I used to be able to play Scrabble on the same level as Rob Scalise. After all, I've been playing the game my whole life, and come from good Scrabble stock on both sides of my family. He said he was rusty, as did I. We caught the Giants losing to the Dodgers, 6 - 2 on a nice day at the Big Phone. David Wells threw a few perfect innings, Giants rookies created an inning of excitement, but the real game began after the game.
In short, Rob threw down his first bingo AIRINGS on turn 6 of game 1 to take a slight lead. I had the game in my pocket when the tiles ran out with a score of 358 to 310, until of course, Senor Scalise tossed another bingo MILIEUS to end the game and win 388 to 353. Not bad.
Game two, the revenge match started out with much fire, bluster and spice. Thanks to that mythical, magical combination of tomato and potato juice dressed up for public consumption and called the Bloody Mary. Turn number two, Scalise - STATION for a 69 point bingo. Gottesman - SHUNTERS for an 83 point bingo. That was the last of my lead for the day, he later tossed in MUDDIER, and thrashed me 482 to 336. Uncle.

One of my favorite organizations in the world, Amnesty International lauched a major online initiative to tear down
Guantanamo Bay one pixel at a time. This site is like no other, please take a moment and check it out
at www.tearitdown.org - It's time this worldwide nightmare and embarrassment for the United States ended.
